1922 M2 parts and a question
I need a Main Spring (firing pin spring). I ordered one from Numrich and sure enough, it was rusty. I should have known better to order from them, so shame on me. Does anyone have a source for some small spare parts? It doesn't look like Sarco has anything along this line.
Also, here is the problem that I am attempting to remedy. When I chamber a round, the cartridge sometimes doesn't seat all the way into the bolt face. It appears that the firing pin is sticking out ever so slightly and the round gets caught on it....So, if I unscrew the firing pin a click or two, it chambers the round perfectly, but then I sometimes get a failure to fire the round. Does this sound like a weak main spring, or something else?
Thanks!

Try Springfield Sporters and Popperts for a new mainspring.

Thank you, I have found a spring to try out, but will also keep these places bookmarked for future reference!

According to Brophy, the M2 bolt uses the same mainspring as the service 03. Can anyone confirm this?

The mainspring for the M2 .22 cal. rifle is the same as the service M1903 rifle, p/n B-146871. M1922M1 rifles use a shorter spring.
