Searching for a 1941 Johnson

Hello, I just joined this group tonight. I've been looking for a 1941 Johnson for quite a while with no luck. So I thought I'd go to the internet. My wife has wanted one of these rifles ever since she saw one on the History Channel. I would like to find the best that I can afford. I suppose the better the rifle is the more I'll have to afford? I'm hoping that one of you can help me locate a rifle that will suit me. I prefer all military configuration but will consider others. I have other military guns to trade or a little bit of cash? I also have a few military vehicles and some antiques. Thanks, TANKER

That 1941 model is not the rifle but the LMG reconstituted as semi-only. Some are legal in the US, others, (using the original receiver or various other technical ATF issues) not!

I don't think a "little bit of cash" will buy you anything in this line. I would expect a nice one to bring about 5K.

I know of 1 here in Australia for sale for $6500 on usedguns.com.au. Not many of them over here. I also know the gent selling it. Hope that helps.

Sure wish I could help you but I had to hand mine in to the police when the laws changed here in England. We were disarmed to make the country safe so all semi autos had to be turned in to the police to destroy !!

So now when you walk down the street, some kid will stab you with moms kichen knife !! What a shame.

Thanks Guys and Gals (I don't know if there are any gals on here but I don't want to offend anyone!)
I've been all over GunBroker and I think I contacted every one who had a Johnson for auction or sale. I bid on several, but never came too close to the reserve. I did try to work out a trade on one Johnson....a little bit of cash...and guns to boot. I may still be in line on that one. I have been able to make a trade for a Johnson with a fellow named George of "Valley Firearms". My "new" 1941 Johnson should be shipped to me this week. I can't wait!!! I hope that it's in as good condition as I expect, it's hard to tell by looking at the pictures but the owner says it's in very good shape. The only thing I don't like about it is the "sporterized" front sight....sort of like Winfield put on the fancy ones, and it has no bayonet lug. I bought a NOS bayonet lug but haven't found an original front sight yet....I'd even accept a front sight with the "ears" ground off, since that was a field expedient fix that sort of shows a gun was used in combat. But one with the "ears" would be best.
How do you get that fancy sight off the barrel?....is it soldered on? Maybe with silver solder. That takes about 1100 degrees to melt doesn't it? Probably ruin any bluing that is on there.....but I do want to return it to full military configuration. Thanks for taking the time to read this and I'll let you know the serial number as soon as I can.
