Holster for S&W 1917
I'm looking for an original style holster for my S&W 1917 for range and hunting use. I'm not a re-enactor, so perfect authenticity isn't important to me. I see that Numrichs has them for about $21, while At What Price Glory has them for $48. I want something that's well made and will last, but value is part of the equation.
Can anyone offer a few suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Mark

Probably best to post an Ad in the Wanted section of this site.

pay attention to what your buying. The calvery holsters were cross draw ( right hip , left hand ).

Sorry, I should've been more specific. My intent wasn't to place a WTB ad, but rather to solicit opinions of holsters available from vendors for the M1917.
Good point on the cross draw issue. I noted that At What Price Glory does have a normal right hand draw and left hip, cross draw style holster. Thanks for the heads up on that!

if you are simply looking to carry and not authentic for some other purpose , the commonwealth flap holster for the large frame revolvers serves well , its secure and comfortable , and its reasonably priced - particularly the IMA-USA replicas

Since were on the topic of 1917 holsters,I wonder what an original cross draw US marked with RIA and W.T.G. stamped on it is worth?
