First 1903
I have a chance to get a nice looking 1903A3. My Blue Book of Gun Values prices 100% original guns. This unfortunately is not. It has a SC barrel and receiver 1943 within 6 months of each other( finish looks great). The bolt I don't know who made, but its not SC. The stock has been sanded and varnished, but FJA is clearly visible. The bore is described as "mint, four groove". I have only seen pictures of the gun. Safety, bolt release lever and sling swivels are Remington. I was wondering what would be a ballpark figure to pay for a gun like this. Thanks.

About $600.
Good Luck!

agree with John,,500 to 600 tops..the Blue book of values, has really gotten crazy with non realworld prices,
your best bet to find a real value is to watch GB and AA for guns close to what yours is, and watch what they sell for,,,not what they hope to sell for, but what they actually bring.
the blue book gives you a rough idea, but shouldnt be the norm.

I'll second what John and chuck said. I've heard the SCs are very accurate.

I am now the proud owner of a SC 1903. Are there any parts I should pick up as spares? Firing pin, extractor, etc?

The spare parts you need are:
Magazine spring. One that has lost its tension looks like a W; a good one looks like an M (when removed from the rifle & follower detached).
Striker
Firing Pin
Mainspring
Extractor.
I've had all these parts, except the firing pin, fail on a 1903 at one time or another.

I am photographically challenged, but I'll have to give it a try.

We learn by practice, rmkurtz!
Here's a link with instructions of a couple of ways to add photos here.
Don't hesitate to ask questions related to this or taking photos. We all had to learn and we're happy to help when we are able to.
(In most of our cases the 'Old Dog New Tricks' saying seems to come to mind, but we proved then wrong.)
How do I upload or post images on MILSURPS.COM? - Military Surplus Collectors Forums
An important thing to remember when practicing is use the "Go Advanced" button under the message window when you answer. It brings up a screen with a few more options. Under the advanced screen there are two buttons that say 'Submit Reply' and 'Preview Post' -
When practicing, you can use the Preview Post over and over to see if what you post will look like before actually sending it to the forum.
