Strange Ammo
A buddy just called me. He was at a show & picked up a box of 45 ACP headstamped "EC 43". It has a brass case and what looks like a leather top with shot inside. He says the round is too long to fit in a magazine so I would assume it is for a .45 revolver with the half moon clips.
Any idea what this stuff is? I've never heard of it.

If they are what I think you are talking about, they are the rounds that came in the Pilot's Survival kit. There was a box of 20 rounds with shot in them. They had to be fed one at a time into the chamber of the 1911 to work.

Known as M15 Shot Shells, they were intended for small game. As Duane mentioned, they were included in Survival Vests.

They're supposed to be single loaded in the Colt pistol.
I have a couple sealed boxes of these.
