    You've got the wrong clips. Those made for the 7.92mm Germanicon 98 and its clones are narrower than those for the 7.62 NATO, and the lugs on the side are placed differently.


    #3 is the NATO clip. Note central lugs and wide width as compared to 98 Mauser clips 7 and 8.

    Well, that's what I learned. I have about 400 rounds of Turkishicon 7.92 on clips. Woulda' been nice to use them.

    That takes me back to my post above. Are the 7.62 Nato clips the same as 30-06 clips for the 03A3, for instance. My Dad has some of those. I don't see 5 round Nato clips at the shows or on the internet. I guess that's understandable as most 7.62 Nato weapons have been magazine fed autos like M14icon, FAL etc.
