T38 cavalry rifle
What differentiates the T38 cavalry rifle from the T38 carbine...or are they the same? What, or when, specifically were the cavalry rifles used? Thanks.

38 Carbines came from the factory as such. Calvary rifles, if you mean the 38 with a 25" barrel, are cut down 38 long rifles. Not sure of the reason for making them but I beleive it was to test the consept of a shorter rifle for the infantry. Someone on this side of the pond coined the phase Calvary Rife. riceone
