Now I'm wondering how hard it would be to made an 1891 Moisin "slave" receiver for SMLE barrels. Then various amounts of metal could be removed at the base area, but the shoulder and OAL length remain unchanged. (I've quite a few "poor" SMLE barrels loose, no No.4s.) Trying to keep headspace and action stretch variables out of the picture as much as possible.

Tried pulling a 91/30 barrel once- never could get it out w/o risk of damage. Might have a go at this Westinghouse action...Hmmm

ETA: Ok, the above won't work w/o WAY too much trouble. Back to Plan "1/2 A".
