A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Possibly from a movie? Background looks like a large picture. I do not believe the overall scene is all real.

I also am thinking movie seen. They look like familiar faces but I can't think of there names. Notice the carbine does not have a mag in it. Also they are the only ones with the camo.....Frank

Yup, "Sands Of Iwo Jima." One of the few movies the "Duke" died in.

Sands was in color, I think. This is B&W. Trivia question. Where else in the Pacific did Duke get killed?

I just saw "Sands", beleive it was BW. Styker carried a Garand icon

It was originally B&W but was re-released in a computer colorized version. He did carry a Garand icon

in "Sands."
