VTK 43, m39/Hakim
I went to the Allentown PA. gunshow this weekend in pursuit of a 02 PU sniper I'd seen there many times in the past. As luck would have it, the guy wasn't there this weekend, looks like I'll have to try again at a later date. While walking around I spotted a Hakim in what appeared to be in pretty good shape. When talking to the seller he informed me the gun was completely seized and he was selling it as a parts only gun. Sounded just fine to me, the price was about half of my last one and this one had all the parts on it, cool. On the way out the door I spotted a pretty dirty VTK, 1944, when I asked how much, I couldn't leave it there. When I got home I started on the Hakim, in short order it was obviously a sand issue, an hour or so later I have a nice matching Hakim with very, very little wear. I'm going to tune it down to keep the gas blast to a minimum (maybe even vent it forward) and put on a shell shock absorber much like the Swed.
The VTK took a little more cleaning but it truly looks very cool. The stock is post wear square splice with much handling and what looks like an oil finish, right now I've got some butcher wax drying on it now and will slow buff it tomorrow. The metal is real nice made on an Izzy 1931 receiver with 85%+ bluing and 99.9% bore. Markings are VTK/D/67,0XX/1944. There is 3600 stamped on the drivers side and is very well shimmed in all the right spots. There is a very light import mark on the business end of the barrel. I truly can't wait to shoot it, I hope it shoots half as good as my sterile SKy. That on does sub MOA with heavy ball off the bench, if the VTK goes twice that it will get a special spot in the collection. Any of you folks have any hands on with a M39 VTK? Thanks-SDH

The VKT should perform similarly to other M39's, Sounds like a nice snag The 3600 is the pressure proof mark.

The Hakim has a gas port adjustment, at least mine did. It was a very nice rifle to shoot. Mine was dropped in the sand, only once.
