Hi
First post here...thanks for all the excellent information!
I have a No 4 Mk 1* here in the UK
, No 23L4877. Bolt matches. Receiver dated 1943. Can't find many other markings but I'll update if I find anything else interesting.

#4 Mk1* Serial Number
I have a 1942 Longbranch, s/n 4L0955. It is all matching except for the butt plate which has no number at all. It is in excellent condition. It has what I think might be import markings, but they mean nothing to me. I have had it since the early 1990's.

1941 Long Branch 0L7557. Barrel is dated 1942, is correctly serial numbered and matches serial numbers on buttsocket and bolt. Bolt is original, not a force-match. I don't have the rifle yet, but I will add more details when it turns up.
