    New Member Introduction

    Greetings All,

I am Mark Carroll resident of Kentucky.

CMPicon delivered a Rack Grade Winchester M1 Carbine on Friday. This is the first modern military firearm I have owned.

I found this site via a Google search, and wished to view posts and possibly to connect with other users of the Carbine should I have any questions.

I have been interested in military weapons all my life. I have personally used the M1 Garand, M14icon, M16, 1911, and lastly the 9mm in service.

Live on the wet coast of Canadaicon, came to this forum to do research on Longbranch Enfields, as am interested in acquiring and preserving one after reading Mark Zuehlke's books on Canadian actions in Holland and Italyicon during WWII. Am also a member of CGN forum.

Smile Greetings from a new member:

    Greetings:
I'm just a newbe with an M-1 Garandicon (30-06 SA Dec 1943). The barrel has some bad muzzle wear, but the bore is not pitted and measures .3035. I'm going to try counterboring to .308 until I start to see some sharp edges. I'm guessing about 5/8" to 3/4". If the gun will still cycle I'll shoot it for a while. If I can't make it cycle (enlarge the port, etc.) nothing is lost, I will just have to rebarrel.

I welcome and appreciate any comments.

    Hello to everyone,

New to the site and I hope to gain and share information about one of my favorite hobbies, firearms.

Latest purchase is a Carl Gustafs 1910 Mauser, which I paid a bit too much for but it is in good shape, with serial numbers matching, and these rifles seem to be drying up in Pennsylvania at least. I'm about to post a thread about the rifle, so if any are interested please look for the thread "1910 CG Swedishicon Mauser".

I look forward to chatting with you -

    Hi all,

I'm new to this site. I'm also a fairly new member of Maple Leaf Up and Canadian Gun Nutz.

    I'm a new WW2 Re-Enactor, just over a year; and I'm a proud owner of a .303
Britishicon (BSA-Shirley) No.4Mk1 that just got restock to full wood this past weekend. I inherited the rifle (sporterized) from my father some many moons ago. It was his first hunting rifle he purchased himself from Sears Canadaicon in 1965 for about $50.00 back then.

I'm still learning lots about this fine rifle and its proud history.

    The fever continues!

Very nice site. I hope to gain more info from here.
