Installing a 03A3 replacement barrel
I have a new in wrap 4 groove Remington replacement barrel. I have the tools to remove and install it. My question is do all replacement barrels need to be finished reamed after proper indexing or do some headspace OK?
Should I purchase a finish reamer now or wait until I install the barrel and check for headspace? Don't want to purchase a reamer if it might not be needed.
Would a pull through reamer be what I would need?
Thanks Bill

Thanks Chuck
That's what I needed to know. Think I will rent a pull through finish reamer from Elk Ridge to do the job.

Do not forget that you may need to turn the shoulder of the barrel down so it will properly index.

NEVER turn down the barrel shoulder! If you can't get it to index, you have the wrong tools.

Where do I find a replacement 03a3 barel
I just purchased a 1943 from a guy who purchased it in 1957. He still had the receipt. He had planned to sporterize it but never got around to it so it just sat around. Everything is in great shape except for the barrel. You can kind of see where there used to be rifling. Where can I get a replacement?
