I did get a 5/44 Inland from the CMPicon with a Trimble TN stamp in the slingwell, but it also had the NPM and cc stamp on the right side. The Inland was mostly correct when I got it, but it had its share of mixmaster parts, including an IBM handguard. And it had the Augusta rearsenal stamp.

Any chance the wood patch you're seeing is a fix for an M2-conversion gone wrong?
