I'm no expert, but i'll get you started. Rifle was made by Waffenwerke Brunn in Bystrica,Czechoslavakia, under German
occupation in 1945. The rifle is not in its correct stock. You have a flat buttplate, a cupped buttplate is correct for that year. There were approximately 30,000 made at this factory in 1945 making it quite rare. What kind of condition is the bore in? Please post more pics if you can, and what letter is under the serial number. Nice Nice Nice rifle, especially for that price!

You did VERY good! I'm thinking this rifle is one of the last ones Bystrica ever made. The "E" block is very hard to find. If you'd like to make it look a little more correct, do a search for "Kriegsmodell", that'll give you an idea of what the correct stock configuration is. Other than that, go shoot it and enjoy, and remember, some poor sales guy got yelled at because of you!

i've been searching online all afternoon for a late model kriegsmodell stock to buy but i haven't found much. anyone know of good places to look for the furniture?

If you don't find one, I'd just clean up the stock you have on it for now.
(Russians put a reddish shellac on many RC's) - They removed the site hoods, cleaning rods, and capture crews, but they are pretty easy to find.
Your rifle looks great.

that stock looks like it'd be beautiful without the shellac on it.

i just placed an order for a new cleaning rod and sight hood that should be showing up next week, and i think i might strip that rifle down tomorrow and see about stripping the shellac off the way aragorn told me the other night.
i'm super pumped! ha
