    Gunner,

All Americans have swimming pools in our backyards. Most of us have tennis courts too, but I converted my tennis court into a firing range.
My range is only 100 yards, but I have to sacrifice because I live in the suburbs near the city.

I also have to put up with the oil well in the corner of my back yard because I live in Texas. I hate having to mow around it, but the extra cash helps with the high cost of carbine ammo.

Might just be the purist in me, but that big honking telescope on the Inland makes me shed a tear.

I know, and my grandson wanted to take it off after I got it from my brother. My dad put that on there 20 yrs ago. I already had bought a rear sight for it, but after he shot it, he said lets leave it on there. So moral of the story is, I spoil the hell out of him, so he wins! But I do have a sight just waiting to go on.

It's a 'Win' for certain, in fact it's a SLAM DUNK that you have your grandson out shooting!

If he likes the scope right now, so be it. You don't need to worry about the aesthetics. He'll grow up too fast and you can change out the scope later.

It's just GREAT he's out shooting with you. He'll remember these times long after we're gone and hopefully he'll carry on our heritage.
    I bet he will.
