OT: Memorial Day
I'm not sure that this forum is the place to post this, but this is the forum I visit the most.
This is always a somber wekend for me. I spend alot of time remembering three friends that have their names on the "Wall". Reflecting on the good times growing up with them, and thinking that they will forever be 19 & 20 years old.
My thoughts will predomitably be about my son PFC. Jacob Frank Derrico. 13 March, 1978 to 7 May, 2000. A M249/M60 gunner Alpha Co. 1st. Bat. 12th. Infantry Reg. 3rd. I.D.
Will you take some time over the weekend with me and toast to our fallen who have sacrificed for our freedom?
Thanks.....Frank

Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?

Frank,
I'm sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
I just came back from San Diego (Coronado Amphibious Base) and the memorial at my old unit for the men we lost.
I wish folks, kids mostly, would realize that this is not just a holiday weekend to kick off the summer. But has meaning.
