A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Did I forget anything? These are just the things I have seen used, and I forgot about the rifle that the guy COVERED in linseed oilicon! I got it for free, I wonder if it was worth all that work! Has anyone ever tried removing hardened linseed oilicon? GAK!
No bent coat hanger with cut up shop towel for cleaning inside barrel? With the LARGE can of WD40, of course.

UMMMMMMMM I wasn't knocking WD40. I used it to clean all of the cosmolineicon off of that SHTLE 1905 I*** Now the action works like a dream. I cleaned the rifle with it after shooting that corrosive ammo too. Do you think that works ?

The WD doesn't do anything for the corrosive salts, like flushing with hot water does. It will wash it out if you use enough though, and it does form a surface barrier.

I've used Windex and WD40 for years on my milsurps and never had a spot of rust. Some consider it heresy, buy I'm a cheapskate and only care that it works.

I haven't seen the coathanger, but I have seen an old shoelace with a piece of rag tied on the end. I forgot the cooking oil used on the stock, too.

Don't forget bits of canvas or T-shirt material for use a shims because the stocve bolt didn't have enough threading to properly replace the missing action screw.

Then there's the roughly-filed piece of scrap brass replacing the missing front sight.

Next we have the 1000 year old hardened old red rubber butt pad that cracks like thin glass and was originally fit with a whittling knife.

I don't know how I missed bubba's bedding compound, too. Silicone caulking compound! And the replacement front sight made from a roofing nail. The big nails work well for replacing various pins, just bend the excess length over to hold the pin in place!

    New bubba tool......

Pssst. Can you guys keep a secret....? I'm gonna make millions selling cammo coloured zip-ties to bubba. Duct tape, hose clamps, nails, screws... all will be old -hat shortly. All bubba will need to strip and re-assemble his favourite huntin' iron will be a pair of toenail clippers (which he'll have to buy in the kit because he doesn't own any) to cut off the old zip-ties, and new zip-ties to re-assemble it. Just imagine! No more mucking about finding the right size butter knife to break off to undo a particular screw!

Pictured is the full replacement kit for a Remy 700..... gonna get into milsurp kits soon too. Will be available from your local chewing tobacco shop soon.

REALTREE cammo would probably be most popular.
