7.62 Indian mags
I have so far found 3 Indian ordnance factories that manufactured 7.62 magazines.
OFT-(Ordnance Factory Tiruchirappalli)-1994
SAF-(Small Arms Factory Kanpur)-1985
RFI-(Rifle Factory Ishapore)-1981
Has anyone info/dates of other Indian ordnance factories that made 7.62 lmg mags please ?

I don't suppose that I really need to ask, but are they fully interchangeable with both the Indian SLR and the UK spec L1A1 rifle?

Same as UK 'commonwealth' L4 mags Peter.

I have one SAF marked one. Carried it for sale for years and no one wanted it so I set it back. Low and behold, along came the L4A3 and it works perfectly. I've never tried the 30 rounders in the SLR but I'm sure they work fine.

I have a SAF and RFI 30 round mags but also have the following 20 round mags. All mags are interchangeable with the 1A Rifle and 1A/1B/1C LMG's and also the L1A1/C1A1 rifles.

If you THINK you've found one send me a close up pic of it and I should be able to tell if its an original Indian MCA. For the life of me I can't remember where I picked this one up from. It might of been from IMA, they have lots of Indian stuff.

Looking at the Indian example shown, the true identification feature MUST be the dire state of the spot welds!
But shouldn't be critical, look at the Sten gun
