CC, Ishapore, like many of the other SMLE manufacturers also manufactured a modified Mk.III in the 1920s, then as WWII broke out returned to the Mk.III*. Ishapore 'exported' many of it's rifles at the start of WWII, but as Japanicon became more of a threat kept many more for the home based troops.
