Color Solution
At the very bottom left corner of each forum, there is a color selection box. Select "Military Surplus Light" and voila, white background.
I think Doug is testing us for our observative qualities. We may be litle slow on the draw but we can still shoot straight.

Getting worse!
Message below:
iexplore.exe Application error
The instruction at "0x77c47fd4" referenced memory at "0x0000000e". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the pgm
Click on CANCEL to debugg the pgm.
Well, "debugging" it seems to be the same as "terminating".
help?

What operating system and version of IE Explorer?
-
Dunno, not my computer, seeing as i don't own one (again).
I'm thinking all 30 or 40 in this shop are running the same software, so what applies to one will apply to others.- I do know that they have the oddest hook ups to the various remote printers and such, but don't think that's a factor- however, a computer guy I'm not!
All of this shop's stuff are just a small part of the whole system- and we on the floor CAN'T change operating systems or any of that kind of thing.
Is this it?:
internet explorer version 6.0.2900.5512
on windows xp professional 5.1.2600 service pack 3 build 2600

I think some of us early users didn't have all the features available- I even went into my users setup page (What the correct name is escapes me right now and I'm afraid to look for fear of "crashing") and tried to change it there- no dice! Work in progress I reckon.

JM,
If you can't do anything about it, then it's all academic. It's hard to understand why a company would install the latest service packs for XP and leave the old IE 6 in place.
Here is your problem, I've seen it before:

Another Issue
Attached photo is self explanatory. This may be only on my machine but I have made no changes and use an enlarged default Windows font of 107% for clarity.

I don't dare try to download whatever's on that link! I LIKE having a job. We get "updates and revisions" all the time w/ dire warnings about monkeying w/ the equipment. That's one big reason I was a "lurker" for so long!

Hi ..
We're going to post a more detailed status report for everyone in the next few days, covering the changeover and some other ongoing development issues we're looking at.
However, I wanted to intercede in this post to validate a few things, including what Ramboueille pointed out. Most problems people will have, other than not liking the dark colour scheme (which is why we have a lighter WHITE version already mentioned), is with their Internet Browsers.
IE6 by Microsoft (released August 27, 2001) for Windows operating system machines is not just outdated, after 9 years of use it's obsolete and many web sites no longer support it, with some actually blocking it when their software does a "browser type" check and discover a user is attempting to login with it.
Anyway, I'd recommend people perform a simple upgrade on their Windows based machines as it's going to be absolutely critical as HTML5 and other changes to software technology start coming on-line in the next six to twelve months. It's one of the primary reasons we had to change to vBulletin v4.0.4pl1 and move away from v3.67pl1 for running this site, which was almost 3 years old and declared unsupported and obsolete by the authors of vBulletin.
Spefifically, we've tested this v4 software running on Apple MacBook Pro with OSX Leopard 10.6.4 using FireFox 3.6.6 and Safari 5.0. We also tested it on an standard PC running Windows XP with the current IE8 (Microsoft Internet Explorer V8). It's also been tested extendively on Apple iPads, Apple iPods, Aple iPhones, RIM Blackberries and several other graphics PDA's and phones.
It runs fine without any line clipping or other anomalies, as shown in the attached pics.
FireFox 3.6.6 and Safari 5.0 (light and dark color schemes)

Microsoft Internet Explorer V8 (light and dark color schemes)

More to follow in the next few days ....
Regards,
Badger
