Kynoch (Kynamco) .303 MkVII Ammunition

With all the talk about key-holing, boat tail bullets, MKVII and MkVIII ammunition I thought I'd do a little investigation into the 'new' (recently made) Kynamco MkVII ammunition.

Powder charge = 39.3 grns
Case = S&B
Bullet = 174 gr R.O
Primer = Boxer
Velocity (Muzzle) 2489 ft/sec
Velocity (at 100 mts) 2406 ft/sec
Energy (Muzzle) 2400 ft/lbs
Energy (at 100mts) 2238 ft/lbs

Bullet length = 1.286"
Bullet diameter 0.311"
Case rim thickness = 0.058" - 0.060"

Not a boat-tail bullet (with the 0.311 being at the base)

I'm not as well equipped as some of you lot seem to be (- lathes, milling machines, grinders Cad-Cam etc) but I've got a bit of sandpaper and a blunt hacksaw blade so I'll try.

Best I can do with a rusty penknife and an angle grinder and a cheap camera without macro :





It certainly looks like the original MkVII
It has the Cannelure
It has the 'gilding'
The internal 'tip' (although it doesnt show well on the pic) is a different colour to the Lead so I assume its Aluminium (or similar)

I have no interest in Kynamco (apart from trying to find a true MkVII round)

They do have worldwide distributors so if enough folks ask I bet th'yll keep on supplying this ammunition.

I did a quick search on MidwayUSA's site. It does not look like they stock Kynoch .303.

I saw that SOG (Southern Ohio Gun) sells Kynoch 303. If I remember correctly, they sold for around 23.00 for 50 rounds.
