If I could get another earlier follower, would it make a huge difference in value, or leave it as it is?
    Thanks, Andy
As you are sure that the follower could not be correct nor original to that rifl,e I would change it. The stock is another story. Dave McClain had answered a very similar question as follows : " It's a stretch that a stock with a MWO ( modification work order ) that was not issued until Nov. 1941 could be on a rifle with a 8-41 barrel but a three month final assembly difference is certainly possible. Rifles were often delayed at final assembly for a variety of reasons so it's still possible your rifle was not final assembled until after Nov. 1941. "

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. stock modification

Look real close at the photo of the short channel - I fail to see any evidence of a long channel modified to short channel - I have only seen a few channel modifications but always on stocks going through rebuild (example WRA WB with SA GAW rebuild stamp, buttplate modified to trapdoor and short channel)

    1941 rifle

I would find a few parts that match-up in color such as the lower band and a early rev 8 follower and a '41 rear sight cover with the small symbol and install these parts. The stock is worth alot of money either short or long channel .

378852 (SA 10-41), and 391085 (SA 11-41) both have small wheel long channel stocks. This is 378852 with all it's dings, but in a way they show that the wood has been together a long time.
