    I don't think the top one is an L1A1. Appears to have a parkerized finish. Parkerized with the protruding press stud; most likely an Australianicon L1A2.

    I thought it was just a badly worn black finish as most of the LiA2's I ahve seen the parkerising is near mint with no wear, but the early Brit's had a hard life, and the high locking stud made it a1 , if parkerised then definitly a 2 by Australiaicon as the Canadianicon C1 has a flush press stud (or at least mine does)
