Not wuite so old. Unfired cartridges picked up in loose dirt in semi arid environment. M1885 bullet. Ft. huachuca, Arizona.

Great find on the right case. A copper spun 45/70. Can you make out any head stamp ? These are the cases that would come apart at the groove in Trapdoors . They caused problems at the Little Big Horn.
