A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Frank I wish it was mine to display, it is at the Springfeild Armory Museam. A friend was at the museam and took the picture and sent it to me and I wanted to share it with you guys.

JimF, I don't know what they are asking, but don't pay it - thats a fake... the bluing is wrong, the font on "springfield" is not right, the wood looks like it was sanded, the finish looks too smooth. looks like there it was reparked because there is no wear on it. I bet the seller tells you that it never left the Springfield Armory until now! Geez, some people will try to pass anything off as genuine! Oh, sorry ... that happens shen I forget the little blue pills in the morning...

Seriously, that is impressive. I doubt I will ever travel there, but if I am ever in that area I surely want to stop in and drool at the history. I understand that the museum area is really well done, not only with the actual historic weapons, but they way that they are presented to visitors.

Looks to be about 90 miles from Boston. I'm going to Boston next summer. You can bet I'll drive an hour and a half to see it.
