A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... Email from Brian Vick at CMPicon today confirmed the type 3 barrel band is a diamond d.

Side note: There was a 7295XXX listed on gunsamerica... someone bought it as I was trying to log in... bummer. I hope that doesn't turn out to be an altered M-2 receiver.

BQ, were any m-1 carbines accepted with serials in the 7.29 area??????

The WRA M2s start showing up in the 7.27 range. All the data I have on WRAs above the 7.28 range are M2s. However, there are records of WRA M2s that do not have the 2 overstamp.

Thanks Brian, I am learning stuff every day. The one I am referring to only had one picture - a side view - and did not show the receiver bridge. I got to thinking about it when I read it again "Owner says he got the rifle before the 1968 Gun Law." Only wanted $850 for it. Hope someone got a great deal and not the shaft.

I am still curious as to what the CMPicon is going to go for. The 7.26 two weeks ago went for $1,625. The 7.23 the OP is talking about is up to $2,560.
