Please share the information on your rare prototype MkV trials rifle here.

I'm sure all the guys that were in on the discussions at surplusrifle before you had it deleted would like some closure on the subject.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Hi Guys ...

As a personal favor to me and for reasons I'm sure some participants of this thread are aware of, I'd appreciate it very much if this thread finished with Amatikulu icon

's link pointing to an "all correct" example of a 1924 ShtLE No.1 MkV Rifle, which appears in our United Kingdom Milsurp Knowledge Library.

I'm sure the 117 picture virtual tour contained in that entry should be sufficient for Alan to make a part by part comparison as to the authenticity of any MkV he's looking at buying.

Whats supposed to be the story? Its just a No1 MkV that someone has fitted with a No1 MkIII forend and butt, isn't it?
