Is my barrel original to the rifle?

OK - THAT makes sense!! I didn't mean to be so "dogmatic" in the last post, but I have seen FJA stocks with rather crude grasping grooves routed in. Just wanted to make sure yours wasn't one of them.

Just for fun, take a look at the very forward tip of the stock (the "wedge" you see when you look down the bore). Do you see a small (about 1/8") "S"?

No small "s" actually I think I'm gonna take this stock and use it on my #996xxx Springfield
