RJW NZicon

Son has all the good Enfield Riflesicon, Ed has all the Good Enfield Manuals, do you have a Dutch trigger and sear????

Wear on the sear will cause a flat spot and an uneven surface which can drag on the cocking piece bent. The cocking piece bent can develop a scalloped face and cause trigger drag. Stoning the sear may help to fix the flat spot or replacing it with a new one will be much faster. Sanding and stoning the cocking piece and decreasing the angle will greatly improve trigger pull.

Below is from the Canadianicon No.4 Enfield manual and "MAY" is the key word, wood crush over .010 required the fore stock to be replaced. Bending the trigger guard will adjust the trigger pull, and make up for excess wood crush. (or are you going to throw the fore stock in the trash )
