I wouldn't dream of doing a 8x63 conversion, the guy I bought it from was going to do the conversion but opted out of it because of the lack of ammo and stout recoil. This K98icon was thus surplus to his needs. The barrel has an "E" on the left but that's it.

My google research tells me it's got a lot of 'Kriegsmodell' parts. The receiver serial number is quite high 888** "a" underneath, the bolt is a Kriegsmodell version with uniform 'cooling holes', but the floor plate retains the lock screws and as the pics show it has a cleaning rod, site hood, and bayonet lug.
