Would you sell a Mini 30 to buy a second Garand?

Yes! I've never owned a Mini 30 or 14 but from what I understand about their accuracy, the Gaand outclasses them.

Yes, Do sell! (Having owned all the above.) The only redeeming features of a Mini-whatever are it's sporty looks and somewhat lighter weight.

Even though the decision won't be made for at least two months, will consider each of your perspectives.
The SKS does just as well zapping floating grapefruits from 80 feet away, and the front post sights on this older Mini is very thick for my modest shooting skills.

In a heartbeat. How many battles have been decided with a Mini 30?

Depends on what you plan to do with either. If you are a collector, and you want to add to your collection, or perhaps use one Garand as a match rifle, the other a shooter, then I'd sell the Mini 30 and buy another Garand. If you need a plinker, one that you can toss in the trunk. The Mini 30 is handy, reasonably accurate and takes cheap ammo - under $3.00 for 20 rounds in bulk.

Yes, I buy a second (or third or fourth) Garand over a Mini-30. Had a Mini-30 many years ago and ,while it was reliable, it's accuracy was not good.

Back around '76
Or so ( my , where has the time gone?) , I was at a gunshow in Tuscon and ran across a man selling a Rugar mini-14 .223 that was kind of neat. It had a miniture set of M1 Garand sights on it. Knobs to the left and right that changed elev. and windage , and click adjustable without tools or bullet tips. He claimed it was a limited production that had just came out. I believe the Mini was around $179 back then , and he wanted $350 or so. I passed , but swore I'd pick one up at a reasonable price. Never , ever , saw another one like it. Never saw it in a cataloge or ad copy. Been 35 years or so , still wish I had snagged it.
Now , to the OP. No , I wouldn't use it to buy a second Garand...
Now , the eighth , well that's a different story. Chris
