A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Long before his time. For example, the small arms that were captured in the Falkands were scrapped. In those days pistols and semi-auto rifles (even conversions) were not banned in the UKicon.

We need to get something straight here: I don't like Bliar either but you can't blame him for everything. It was Thatcher (1988 Act) and Major (1997 Act) who carried out the most anti-gun legislation in the UK.

A fellow I know has what he says is an L8, but is unmarked. He said that they made the conversions but didnt engrave them until they were sold and had a buyer ready to take possession. Never heard that anywhere else, before or since. His is an L8 in every respect, but not marked. Lots of questions. I've not been able to make contact with him in the last year, so I don't know if he still has it or not.
    My 2 cents.

I can confirm that L8 rifles were available in Germany at least until the late 1990's. IIRC they were sold by a company called Sport Arms. I also remember seeing some for sale on a stand at the Dortmund Waffen Borse in 1998, although I can't remember what company that stand belonged to. They looked to be brand new rifles.

I don't like Bliar either but ALL (other than .22 pistols) of the recent anti-shooter legislation has been from the Tories - NOT Labour.
