No.4 Mk.1 buttsocket markings

Any idea what the "0912" stamped on this No.4 Mk.1 buttsocket might mean? I did read something a while ago, but I can't remember where now (dementia is a pain in the butt....)

They're a restamp of the original BSA/Shirley serial number, which is barely visible below them, scratched into the steel.

Especially when you forget where you put your reading glasses.........

Try looking through the bottom lenses.

Oh dear - my monitor is frankly useless, and I couldn't make out enough to see what was going on lol.
