stamp real or fake
I picked up this M1 last year it was a very clean mostly restored 43 garand with a SA stamp . I always disregard stamps because of fakes. I thought I would post a pic and get opinions if it is real or fake

I'm not sure if this will help or not, but along the same subject lines, here's an excellent thread by Rick B titled Inspection Stamp Quiz (click here) , which may be found as a permanently "stickied" thread at the top of this forum.

I am NOT an expert on fake M1 markings, but these just look so clean... too clean perhaps?

Can we not see a shadow around the S? To me, it was stamped and sanded and restamped because the first attempt was sub standard. And as Claven says the whole area is too perfect.

It looks fake to me. The crossed cannons are not right.
