The salesman screwed up. He probably had "Smith Corona" mixed up with "National Ordnance". Smith Corona did make legitimate M1903A3s during WWII. Don't feel bad - we've all done it. In my case I turned down a beautiful early Remington M1903 in 1972 because 1. (at $59) it was "too expensive", and 2) "It isn't a real Springfield". Still hit my head against the wall occasionally about THAT one!!

Mustang -- I still can't tell too much from your pictures. If the bolt doesn't have an R on the bottom of the handle and no "CC", "B&S" or other markings on the top of the bolt handle, it probably is a Smith Corona.
Your computer should have some photo-editing software, which includes a way to crop and reduce the resolution of your pictures. With proper cropping and reduction in resolution, a 50 to 100 Kb picture is plenty big. I believe Badger still has my post on "gun photography" as one of the "stickies" on this forum.
