Claven2, I really don't know if rifles marked .223 Remington and .308 Winchester will be exempt. There has always been a problem if the rifle was a current or recently obsolete military variant like the M40 or M24 sniper rifles which are just Remington 700 short andf long action rifles respectively. As far as the M1A and AR-15 variants, it's not going to happen. I'vce been round and round exporting AR components over the past couple of years with some success and some not! It's all a bit tiring sometimes considering all the crime we're stopping.
Spinecracker, There are no restrictions on the import of the rifles you mentioned as long as they're on the U.S. Curio & Relics list which all except the L39A1 are.
Bearhunter, I don't know where you're coming from saying that there's no government control on the import or sale of said firearms and ammunition. No offense, but that's simply mythology perpetrated by the media. The USAhas the most restrictive import/export laws in the world. They're much more restrictive than England
or Canada
so lets lay that mythology to rest for good. Believe me, I live it on a daily basis.
