.303 Brit Battle Rifles.

Hi all, I am planning on having a display of .303 rifles at the upcoming October Washington Arms Collectors show. Something a little different. I have several rifles already, here are what I was going to include in the display:

Martini Enfield AC .303
LE I*
No1 MkI***
No1MkIII
No4MkI
No5MkI
No4MkI T
M1905 Ross
M1910 Ross
P-14
Indonesian Hembrug Rifle conversion
Indonesian Hembrug carbine conversion.

I would like to also have a poster showing some of the other rifles/carbines. I think I have the Enfield series covered well. What would be some other ideas?

Although I'm not familiar with the Indonesian conversions, the rest of the list looks to be a pretty good outline of the models, without getting far enough into the tangents to get confusing.
If you are going to name the individual rifles, could you consider not using "No1 MkI***"- just MkI*** or Sht LE MkI*** would be correct.

Other ideas for displays... How about smallbore or subcalibre Military trainers from various countries?

I hope you take plenty of pictures. We really like pictures. 'specially when they are about educating the masses about these fine battle implements.

I also have an RIC carbine, but that isn't really a battle rifle.

trying to keep the display simple but not too overwhelmingly detailed. Most of the general gun show going public would be blown away if I started to break the rifles down into No1MkIII and No1MkIII*, No4 Mk1/2, Mk1/3, Mk2, dispersal rifles, peddled scheme, all the different Marks of the Ross.........well you get my drift.

Last year I won 2nd place and a hundred bucks, not bad for the first outing. Had a display of the various Enfields. It was a little cluttered, and kind of too many for only two tables, although Ian Skennerton was impressed.

Sounds like a really fine display.

Do you have a Converted rifle? (Long rifle Converted to Short rifle size; did a bunch between 1902 and about 1914.) Very pretty, by my lights, anyway. I have always thought that they were pretty rifles, just can't afford one. Making one up this winter out of a Bubba'd Sparkbrook, just to have something to shoot. Originals are nice but scarce.

Be sure to take a couple of good pictures, let us all drool along with you.

How about Bayonets? Maybe some chargers, including one loaded with dummy or drill rounds. Bandoliers and ammo pouches (both leather and Webb). Couple of wartime pix?

Maybe a manual, or two.

An Impi of Zulu Tribesmen might be a little too much and be considered "tacky".
