A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Remington 03-A3

I am new to the forum, but not to shooting and reloading. I got a Reminginton 03-A3 from a friend in Alaska that is in almost unfired condition. It was his dad's rifle and he said that his dad never fired it and he only put about 10 rounds through it. It has a 4 million serial number and is stamped as made in 1943. There is no wear on the bolt and it has the original military sling. I'm torn on whether to shoot it or just keep it as new. I would love to sight it in with the peep sight on it, as it wouldn't hurt the value or wear on the gun. That way I could shoot it and not worry about keeping it new. An 06 with 220 grain round nose are good bear fodder here in southeast Alaska.

Hello everyone. I have an H&R M1icon Garand that I acquired in the late 1960s. I don't shoot it often but I enjoy it when I do. I am reloading Speer 165gr Spitzer SP with 47gr of IMR 4895. I have a question : What is the optimal overall cartridge lenght after seating the bullet? By the way I also shot a .62 caliber Poor Boy. It has a 1 in 60 twist rifled barrel and I use patched round ball with 100 gr of XXX Goex. Thanks in advance, Flintlockjoe.

Hey everyone. I'm new to this forum. I have a Springfield Arms M-1 w/ ser. no. 47XXXX, which I believe dates it to mid February, 1942. It's an older CMPicon purchase and almost all the parts I can see are correct to that time. Some of the smaller parts, although clearly SA, are later. The stock it came with is unmarked, leading me to believe it went back to the armory at some point.

I found a refinished stock w/ the remnants of a sa/ghs cartouche on it. A small speck or two and perfect light indicate where the cannons were.

I'd like to completely restore it. Any thoughts about were to find the parts. Also. any advice od the stock.

Good evening....I'm new to this site ,but I'm extremely impressed with the combine knowledge of y'all. I've been collecting for over 35 years and don't think I'll stop until "the last breath" (already ran out of money several times but have a very supportive Mrs.)

    Glad to be here

I finally got around to ordering a CMPicon M-1 recently, and an e-mail message says it has shipped, a month or more earlier than I expected. So, I will need technical info on the weapon, which I see is available at this site. I am a Vietnam vet and a gun guy since I was a kid. I have been aware of the CMP program for decades but only just recently got the paperwork (and the dough) together to get the job done. They gave me a 30-60 day shipment timeframe, but here it's coming in only a few short weeks. My neighbor across the alley is a Korea vet and actually used an M-1 in combat, so he can help me some, but I want the FM as well. He's got an M-1 himself, so we might go out in the hills someday soon and establish a new Kansas line. You never know.

    Hey there,
I'm new to this site and would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. Some of you may recognize the username from other sites. My old brain can't keep up with multiple sites so I use the same for most. My recent purchase of a Springfield M1A1icon has lured me back to the web for some opinions and insight from some folks that have some similar experiences.
Thanks in advance for your wisdom!

    J.K.
