They'll work fine. You may get an occasional stoppage with the tip of the bullet jamed into the breech beside the chamber because the soft points don't always feed perfectly. I've used them for years because FMJ are prohibitively expensive here in Canada
.

If you don't want to load them send them to me. If my M1
don't like them the 03A3 will
Seriously they should work fine.

They should be fine. I prefer the Remington 165 gr Core Lokt SP. It has the smallest amount of exposed lead among commercial bullets & is very accurate.

Well I have the 30cal soft points marked off paper work is in the mail.
New stuff. I have been trying to find bulk bullets for reloading. Best prices seem to be on the 147 grain mil pull downs. Can not find a good source of FMJ 150-168 grainers. Are the 147 good for Garand
100yards ? I plan on useing Varget and IMR4895. I have several lbs of both @ the moment.

I beleive that is the bullet used in M2 ball. The 147. I use 47 grains of either of those powder with that bullet with good results in my 03A3 or my garand

I haven't seen much differece between virgin bullets and pulldowns. I'm still shooting 3 to 4 inch groups at 100 yards with open sights and 60 year old eyes.

For 100 yd club matches, I ended up using RP 125 gr bulk bullets that I got from Midway.
I used both IMR & H4895 and could not tell the difference at 100 yds.
But, my arthritic shoulder sure appreciated the reduction in recoil, especially in prone.

I've had very good luck with these bullets. For a while they were in short supply but they seem to be coming back in supply.
