    That s the original coloration on these blades, it was later polished out to all white, this is a nice early example

    The coloration is right for an early blade but the date of the blade - dont know why i said early?? - is well past the date that these came out blued, by this time they were sand blasted and should have a matt surface finish. I never bother with scabbard marks unless they match the balde as so many of these get mixed around with scabbards put on blades just to cover them.
