the first was pointed or cone shaped and didn't work well with the extractor design. The second is a half flat design that sat on a corresponding shelf in the newest extractor. That is the only one to use.
You may be talking about ejectors which are in three types; a multi angled face type 1 and a flat shaped type 2 followed by an almost cone shaped type 3. These all work equally well.
