I've noticed a trend recently of Bren type Bipods being used on modern designs. I think its the AWM .50 that has a modified copy, the Finnish

Maybe the manufacturer could be persuaded to make repro Mk1 bipod legs? I'm sure they'd sell a few.

There's a Versa Pod as well out there that has its fans. Similar feet and pivot.

The Bren bipod is simply the best bipod ever put on a gun, not least because it can be instantly opened and closed with one hand. The popularity of the Harris bipod --which to me resembles nothing quite so much as a piece of farm machinery-- is a complete mystery to me.

Clever chaps those Czechoslovakians. Did the Bren bipod start with the ZGB, or one of the earlier ZB series MGs?

The basic design of the hinge and the legs originated with the ZB26. The simplified method of slip-on attachment to the keyed Bren gas cylinder originated with the ZGB; this was made feasible by the rearward repositioning of the regulator.
