Shotgun Restoration

I would generally advise against trying to bring this shotgun to "shooting condition" unless you stick to black powder shells. Cast iron frame and mostly unhardened steel working bits except for hammer, trigger,etc. IIRC this design is pre-smokeless powder era.

I agree, but there's no harm in Joel practising a bit of hand-fitting on this "hair-loom" (I like that). It's one of those "doesn't cost much except endless time" actions. Confidence-boosting if it works - and from what we've seen Joel do so far, it will.
