Sorry Guys, I Just Don't Know!
M1 CARBINE PARTS - REAR SIGHT - eBay (item 120655363025 end time Dec-09-10 13:59:58 PST)
I am looking for a genuine rear flip sight, but will not pay $200. I know most of Ebag stuff is phony, but sometimes you find a diamond in the rough. I just can't tell on this particular part. He said its real and was re-parked???

Rocky, I would like to see better photos and more of them. It looks the part but it has also been sand blasted and refinished. That could have been done to make it look older. Maybe some of the others will chime in.
And don't be sorry

I asked if there was any other stampings and I quote "Yep. There is a slight dash mark visible to the right of the S as shown on page 52 of Harrison CarbineIII. It is not a nice neat perfectly aligned dash as shown on that page, rather it slants slightly downward towards the right. The sight leaf is unmarked and blued".

Not trying to hijack this thread at all but, he apparently does not know he is selling. He has listed a Rudy Furnace Co. as a Rockola front sight. We all know that R marked
front sights came late in 1944 when Neidner could not complete their contract obligations.

Many many people think R marked front sights are Rockola due some bad books out there.

What would be the correct sights for a Rock-Ola made in Sept. / Oct. of 1943 (#1701XXX)?
Are the Riesch books accurate?
