    Hello folks,

    Just found this forum and signed up today.
    I've recently become interested in the earlier cartridge military firearms.
    So far I have a 1891 Argentineicon Mauser and a 1873 Springfield 45-70.
    Love 'em both and looking forward to learning more about them and others.
    Havn't really explored the forum yet, I'm slow with this internet stuff.
    What i have seen looks great.

    Howdy everyone;

    I have a few milsurps and am curious as to just exactly what they are and where they were made. Nothing rare, but I enjoy hunting for the details.

    Plus I may need sources for parts, reloading compnonents & information, etc.

    I don't own a pc currently, so I use the library computers a few days a week for free. I'm not a luddite, just a cheapskate - but this will typically slow down my response time to any messages and posts. Also, I travel about 6 months a year for work, so I am usually active only when I am home.

    It's pretty cold here in the Canton area, so I'm gonna go throw a turkey in the smoker and chill with some anti freeze.

    New member introduction.

    Hello all. A friend recommended this site and I decided to join. Obviously I enjoy collecting and shooting surplus rifles. My personal collection includes mostly weapons from the World Wars and some modern handguns. With the help of my friend I have put together several 1911 handguns from various makers. Also some AK47s. My background includes 24 years active duty US Army Infantry. Most of it spent in Germanyicon. I speak the language and my wife of 40+ years is from there. I have had experience working on Turk Mausers and a few M69 trainers so if anybody has any questions about those I will be happy to help if I can. Also happy to answer any other questions you may have. Happy to be here and looking forward to meeting some members. Oh, I did forget to mention that I recently got back into motorcycles so when the weather is good I am on the road a lot.

    Hey, new user here, I found this site while looking around online for an Arisakaicon Type 99. I've always been interested in firearms and am happy to be here. I'm from Ontario, Canadaicon. I'm actually just outside of Toronto. Like I said, glad to be here!

    Another Canadian!

    Well what can I tell you? I've been hunting & shooting for most of my 60 yrs. I've had the pleasure of many interesting firearms pass through my hands, some of which I now wish I'd have kept. I've reduced my collection to what I actually use for hunting, except for a primo 1949 No.4 Long Branch Lee Enfield. I'm an ex military cop (almost another life time ago), but most of my adult life was spent as a carpenter/cabinet maker. I love restoring old firearms if possible, and among my peers I'm the (small "e") expert in firearms & weaponary. This is a wonderful forum, and I'm glad to be a part of it. Cheers all!

  12. Thank You to lawrence_n For This Useful Post:

    Hi. I go by williamcolt and just registered with this forum after talking to my brother-in-law about it. He says there is no better site anywhere to learn about 1903 springfield rifles than this one and after spending about 4 hours looking I agree. The knowledge in this forum is pretty amazing. My current motivation for joining up is that two weeks ago I purchased a very interesting Springfield rifle in a sporter configuration and am getting very different opinions from my friends here in Delaware on what it is. I am about to post a description of the rifle and hopefully get comments and opinions on what I have. This, by the way is the first Springfield 03 I have owned since 1970 when I had an 03A3. You may be happy to know that I have not been completely without a Springfield since then, I have an 1879 trapdoor carbine. Please watch for my post. WC
