I have A M1A NM serial #0472XX. Can anyone give the DOM ?

Call them and they will tell you. You have an ideal serial number range for a good receiver. They had the very best QC in that serial number range.

I'm guessing it was made somewhere around 1990.

From my on-line addition of Lee Emerson's "M14 Rifle History and Development", your receiver was probably made in January of 1989.
