Thought you might like to see some examples of the stock finish application that I was referring to. I've done several since these that in my opinion are better, but these are the latest ones I have photos of.
The Model '03 stock is an old stock that I refinished. I used the same stain/BLOprocess I referred to. The difference is in the sanding and preparation. Since it was an old stock it needed much more sanding/steaming/repairing than a new CMP
stock would.
The Model 1917 is wearing a new stock that was finished exactly the way I described in my earlier post and is the type finish you can expect from your new Garandstock if you finish it as described.
Again, there are many ways to achieve the same thing. This works for me.
