In the ETO (44-45) field ordnance units swapped adjustable sights for the factory flip sights when the carbines came in for other repairs. I have a 47NNN Inland that was carried between the seats of a jeep. Once or twice when over eager passengers jumped in the back they stepped on the stock, breaking it. Upon being returned with a new stock the rear sight had also been replaced.
Im no expert on Carbines but are the round bolt and revised operating slide also correct for an original carbine in the 6NN,NNN range?

Jim

On a 6,xxx,xxx, as in mpd1978's carbine, absolutely.
on a 6xx,xxx carbine the slide could be but not the bolt.

Either way, it is a beautiful late Inland, technically the best carbine of them all. It looks basically new to me. I'd like to see more pictures of it!
I believe he has the sight cranked to the left to show the "original" sight staking.....Frank

I meant on mpd1978's carbine, I edited the previous post to avoid confusion.
