Thanks again to all for the advice. It sure makes it a lot easier to feel confident I am getting a good deal by being able to tap the resorces on the forum. I hope to be able to help someone to this forum in the future.

Your model 11 must have been made in 1942 or 1943 just before the serializtion jumped to 700000. They went to 499,999 before. the jump in mid 1943. The date code makes no sense. My info is that date coding started in Jan 1922 with the second letter being N. Great find.

The barrel date code is probably Jan 1943, which would be correct for that serial number (474,xxx). The second "M" for the 1943 year code is either missing or just not visible.
By the way, another unissued Model 11 in a box like this one sold earlier this month on one of the auction websites for over $3,000.

That makes sense. Tom would you mind telling me what auction site sold the model 11?
Thanks
